Jim Corliss was born in Tacoma, Washington, and died in Portland at OHSU hospital with family present. He graduated from Curtis High School and went on to earn a degree from Washington State University, where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He entered the Army in 1968, serving two years as an officer at Fort Meade, Maryland.  He then began his career in the auto business at Ford Motor Company in Seattle. His journey led him to establish Landmark Ford in Tigard, Oregon.

He was a well-respected member of his community and more widely across the auto business in general. He was also a long-term member of Tigard Rotary.

He is survived by his wife, Cora, three children: Mick, wife Mitsuko, and daughters Mia and Maya, Katie Pitt, husband Dave, and daughters Lauren and Sarina, and Amy Corliss, sister Mary Jo Eldenburg, brother-in-law Paul, and nephew Tony, as well as many Landmark employees over the years whom he considered family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Tigard Rotary or the Oregon Food Bank.

There will be a celebration of life on November 23rd at Tigard High School from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
