The Tigard Community Friends Church is in need of warm and used clothing to be given out to families in need.
Friends Church is collecting clean clothing in good condition, including coats, sweaters, fleece, hats, gloves, scarves, new socks, winter boots, heavy sweatshirts and pants of all sizes and ages. Donations can be dropped off at the Friends Church, located at 15800 SW Hall Blvd, Tigard, through Friday, Nov. 5. There is a donation barrel right outside the church’s front doors, located at 15800 SW Hall Blvd. 97224. The area is well lit and covered, and the barrel is emptied daily.
The church also runs a monthly drive-thru FoodShare Pantry, serving upwards of 70 families, and has noticed that having warm clothing in the winter is an important necessity that these families may not have.
Our planned giveaway is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6, from 10-3 p.m. at the church address. Anyone living in the area in need of winter clothing is invited to attend. Masks will be required.
