Fogo de Chão to open new location in Bridgeport Village

On July 22, 2025, Fogo De Chão announced that it will be opening its second Oregon location in Bridgeport Village. Fogo De Chão is an internationally renowned Brazilian Steakhouse that serves churrasco – a popular style of cooking that features high-quality cuts of meat grilled over an open flame. At Fogo De Chão, customers can watch the chef cook these cuts right in front of them.

The seating arrangement provides guests with a 360-degree view of the chef cutting and grilling their dinners. Barry McGowan, Chief Executive Officer of Fogo De Chão, says, “We look forward to welcoming the local community to immerse themselves in the memorable dining experience Fogo de Chão has to offer.” Alongside their proteins, guests can select sides from the market table, which features seasonal salads, antipasti, and more. The restaurant also features an arrangement of social spaces designed to invite guests to enjoy its relaxing atmosphere and All-Day Happy Hour. Fogo De Chão’s unique atmosphere will make it stand out from the selection of restaurants in Bridgeport Village. 

Churrasco cooking comes from a long tradition in Brazilian culture. The origins can be traced back to South American cowboys. They were nomadic, and their resources were often limited to herds of cattle and open fire pits. Therefore, the Gauchos slow-cooked the meat over embers in order to baste the meat in its own fat. This tradition of simple seasoning and slow-cooked meats began. 

Fogo De Chão already has a reputation for excellence. For a preview of all that Fogo De Chão has to offer, customers can check out their current location in Downtown Portland. They offer seating for 250 guests, along with a full bar, takeout, and delivery options. McGowan says, “We are highly encouraged by the success we have seen at our Portland location, and we are excited to announce plans to open our second location in Oregon and bring our exceptional cuisine to Tigard.”
