It is the honor of a lifetime to serve Tigard as your Mayor. My husband, Abram, and I have proudly called this beautiful city home for more than 20 years, and I am deeply grateful for the trust this community has placed in me. Tigard isn’t defined by one person—it’s all of us working together to build a city where everyone feels welcome and included. As Mayor, I am committed to restoring stability, strengthening trust, and making sure our local government reflects the teamwork and respect our residents deserve.

Priorities for the Next 14 Months

In the months ahead, I will focus on moving forward the goals our City Council has set together—more housing choices, strong city services, safer streets, and a community where everyone belongs. These are not abstract ideas; they are practical commitments that affect our daily lives.

  • Public safety and stability – pushing ahead with the new Police and Public Works facility, which will also house a much-needed Emergency Operations Center to keep our community prepared and resilient.
  • Housing and houselessness – planning for River Terrace 2.0 so future growth includes a range of homes for different needs, while working with community partners to address houselessness with compassion, accountability, and practical solutions.
  • Supporting local business – helping small businesses succeed, creating more pathways to good local jobs, and attracting the right kind of investment that strengthens—not changes—the character of Tigard.
  • Safe streets – making it safer to walk, bike, or drive in every neighborhood, especially for kids, older adults, and other vulnerable users.
  • Community engagement and inclusion – listening to a wide range of voices, breaking down barriers to participation, and ensuring everyone feels they belong in the decisions that shape Tigard.

Looking Ahead

Tigard has its challenges, but also incredible opportunities. Together we can strengthen our neighborhoods, support local businesses, prepare for emergencies, and protect the natural beauty of our parks and trails—while being careful stewards of public resources and ensuring city services remain efficient and sustainable. With your partnership, I know Tigard’s best days are still ahead. Let’s keep moving forward together.
