King City City recorder receives President’s Award of Distinction

The Oregon Association of Municipal Recorders (OAMR) presented King City City Recorder & GIS Coordinator Ronnie Smith with the 2025 President’s Award of Distinction. Mr. Smith received the award at the association’s Annual Banquet held at Valley River Inn in Eugene, Oregon, on September 25, 2025.

This President’s Award of Distinction is awarded to a member who has contributed significantly to a committee or has performed exceptional work for OAMR. Nominations for this award are accepted only from OAMR members. Some areas considered might be in Leadership, OAMR Committee Work, Lifetime Achievement, OAMR Programs, or Education Development.

During the award presentation, OAMR President Kayla Duddy announced, “Mr. Smith embodies everything this award stands for. He led his team to brainstorm and implement new and innovative ways to deliver the education our members need. His vision was instrumental in securing top-tier speakers and presenters, elevating the quality of our mid-year and annual academies and conferences to new heights.”

Mr. Smith has been an active member of OAMR since 2017. He serves as the Chair of the Education Committee, as well as serving as a member of the Events & Fundraising Committee. He received his Certified Municipal Clerks (CMC) designation in June 2024 and is actively pursuing the prestigious Master Municipal Clerk (MMC) designation from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

Mr. Smith began working for the City of King City in July 2017.
