The Northwest Senior Theatre (NST) will present its newest show, “Happy Holidays – Weather Permitting,” from Wednesday, Nov. 19, through Saturday, Nov. 22. All performances are at 2 p.m. at the Rise Church in Tigard. Tickets are $10.

The show is a celebration of both the holidays and the seasons, infused with happiness, humor, and hope. The enthusiastic troupe of 24 senior performers has delighted Portland audiences with its versatility and talent since 1991, starting its run at the Alpenrose Theater.
Jan Rosenthal is directing for the first time at NST, where she is in her 13th year. Rosenthal, who began performing at the age of nine, has pieced together 32 songs for the original show, including classics such as “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Happy Days Are Here Again,” “Blue Skies,” and “I’m Looking Over a Four-Leaf Clover.” The performance will feature dancing, a singalong, and plenty of humor.
The production is a collaboration of many talented people, both on and off stage. Cast member, vocalist, and musician Audrey Perino led musical rehearsals for a month while Music Director Mak Kastelic was on his honeymoon. Behind the scenes, Martha Sevcik and George Mauro are assisting with technology, and cast member Patrick Winters and Eric Margeson are handling the sound system.
To NST, age is just a number. The energy and enthusiasm of the cast are sure to delight audiences and have them singing along to familiar tunes.
