Located on Main Street (12290 SW Main St, Ste 2) in downtown Tigard and a Tigard staple for over 50 years, the Antique Barbershop offers all the charm and comfort of a traditional barber experience while also serving up modern trends and styles. Owner Adel Elachhab took over in 2016. A barber for twenty-five years, Adel began working in his uncle’s barbershop in Morocco when he was 12. There he honed his barbering skills and business savvy.
When Adel moved to the United States in 2010, he got his barber’s license. Working at various barbershops helped him realize it was time to open his own shop: he noticed there were not many old-school style barbershops doing straight razor shaves and haircuts. Adel’s skill drew the attention of the previous owner, Carolyn, who was pleased to hand over the reins knowing that he would continue to honor the shop’s reputation of offering excellent quality traditional barber services.
In addition to haircuts, Antique Barbershop offers hot lather face shaves using old-school straight razor blades for a shave as close as you can get. All services include a complimentary hot towel and razor neck shave along with quality products to get you styled and ready to go before you walk out.
Adel prides himself on the inclusive environment his shop offers and the close-knit team of barbers who truly love seeing smiles on their client’s faces. His team understands that your haircut is an extension of who you are. Adel says, “Along with quality service, we like to provide a well-versed orientation on what you want to achieve with your hairstyle and look. We do great beard work with sculpting to the frame and face structure of each client. Designs are not seen very often, but here we have a few barbers who do great beard design work and have been practicing for years. We recently brought onto our team a braid specialist. Lastly, our company is a family-oriented environment where all our barbers get along and have great relationships with our clients. We love all who come to visit us.”
