With the holiday season quickly approaching, the Tigard Downtown Alliance and the Tigard Chamber of Commerce want to encourage community members to get a jump start on their holiday shopping and to shop local. They are excited to present “Shop Local Bingo” again this year.
Shop Local Bingo is happening now and will conclude on Small Business Saturday on November 27. Community members can pick up their bingo card at one of the participating businesses or download a copy at www.ExploreDowntownTigard.com.
Community members can fill out their bingo card by shopping, dining, and experiencing the great businesses we have in Downtown Tigard. All they must do to get a spot marked off is make a purchase at a participating business. There is not a minimum purchase required. There are also some spots that require an action instead of a purchase. Complete the action and have one of the participating businesses sign off on it.
New this year, the Tigard Downtown Alliance wanted to have an opportunity to give back to the community by hosting a food drive. One of the squares on the bingo cards reads “Bring in two canned foods to a participating business.” When community members bring in at least two canned food items to a participating business, they will get that spot stamped or signed. All the food collected will go to a Tigard food pantry.
Go for just one bingo or go all the way to a blackout. For each bingo a community member completes, they get one entry into the prize drawings. The grand prize will be a $150 visa gift card. Other prizes include Downtown Tigard gift baskets and gift certificates. Winners will be selected and announced on Wednesday, December 1 on the Explore Downtown Tigard Facebook page.
