The Tigard City Council appointed Jake Schlack at its regularly scheduled June 25 meeting. Schlack will serve as Councilor from July 1 through December 31, 2024.
Following Councilor Jai Raj Singh’s resignation in May, the Council decided to place the remaining two years of his term on the November General Election ballot and fill the interim six-month gap with an appointment, effective from July 1 through December 31, 2024.
Schlack brings a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role. He has served on the Tigard Budget Committee since 2022, including two terms as chair.
His commitment to the community is further demonstrated by his work as an independent contractor for the Tigard Water District and his professional role as a Senior Product Analyst for DAT Freight & Analytics.
“I am honored to be appointed to the City Council,” said Schlack. “I look forward to working with my fellow council members and the community to continue making Tigard a great place to live and work. My experience on the Budget Committee has given me a deep understanding of our city’s financial landscape, and I am eager to bring that knowledge to the Council.”
“Jake Schlack has shown exceptional leadership and dedication to Tigard through his service on the Budget Committee. His expertise and passion for our community will be invaluable on the City Council. We are fortunate to have him step into this role,” Tigard Mayor Heidi Lueb noted.
