School’s Out– Let the Summer Fun Begin in Tigard!

As summer begins and the school year comes to a close, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all our students, families, and educators for another year of growth and perseverance. Summer in Tigard is more than just sunshine—it’s a season of connection, celebration, and community.

In Tigard, our work is guided by Council Goals that shape the way we grow and thrive together. Our 2025–2026 goals focus on creating housing opportunities, supporting economic vitality, maintaining resilient infrastructure, and—what I’m most excited to talk about right now—cultivating Tigard as a great place to live, work, and play.

Goal 3 is all about building a community where people of all ages feel connected and supported. This means improving transportation and safety, ensuring access to parks and recreation, and offering programming that brings us together. Summer is when this goal truly comes to life—and this year is no exception.

We have an incredible lineup of free and low-cost activities that reflect our city’s commitment to well-being, equity, and joy. Whether you’re dancing at a concert, shopping at the farmer’s market, splashing at the park, or trying your luck at cornhole, you’re helping build the kind of vibrant, welcoming community Tigard strives to be.

Here are just a few of the many opportunities to play and connect this summer:
