Mask & Mirror Community Theatre continues its season with Pam Valentine’s hilarious “Spirit Level,” opening November 1 on The Main Stage at Rise Church, 10445 Canterbury Lane, Tigard, and running through November 17. Performances are Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sunday matinees at 2:30.
Director Stan Yeend’s seasoned cast features Jeff Ekdahl as Jack; Patti Speight as Susie; Bryce Bristow as Simon; Karen Johnson as Flic; Patricia Alston as Marcia; Kraig Williams as Mark; and Robin Michaels as the Guardian Angel.
Yeend’s tech crew includes Jodi Johnson as Assistant Director and Costumer, John Knowles as Producer, John Bartholomew as Set Designer and Builder, Bonnie Scott as Stage Manager, Rick Hoover as Light and Sound Design/Operator, Kathryn Stevens as Prop Mistress, and Cindy Zimmerman as Set Dresser.
Yeend states, “I first read Spirit Level in 2019 and was asked if I wanted to direct it in the fall of 2020. Well, thanks to Covid, that didn’t happen. When I first heard the premise: ghosts haunting new tenants with hijinks ensuing, I was expecting what I like to call ‘an amusing bit of fluff.’ I was happy to discover how wrong I was. The well-written, humorous play moves along at a brisk pace and elicits belly laughs as well
