More and more Tigard Businesses are open, or preparing to as we move into July. Look for ReOpen Ready posters in shop windows. Businesses displaying the poster have committed to meet or exceed federal, state and industry guidelines for creating a safe space for customers.

Businesses in Tigard and the surrounding area, that display the ReOpen Ready emblem or poster below, are ensuring they take due care for their customers’ safety and health in the COVID-19 environment.

Their customer safety standards are taken from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) sector and general employer guidance, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) and any industry or licensing oversight entities.

In preparation for reopening, Tigard businesses also had access to the ReOpen Ready webinar series which guided business owners through the critical steps and best practices they should consider as they prepare to reopen. The Tigard Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Tigard and professionals from Washington County conducted four webinars between May 19 – 27 focused on helping business owners create and maintain a safe and healthy environment for their customers and employees

Each webinar highlighted actions, guidelines and best practices for a different business sector. These sectors included Restaurants & Bars, Retail, Personal Services and Professional Services. These were also recorded so are available on a continuing basis and were recently translated into Spanish as well.

Please support our local businesses as they reopen. Business needs customers, and customers need products and services. It is a circle. We are all in this together! Let’s regrow our local economy and put people back to work!
