On August 23, at 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., Mask and Mirror Community Theater will host special guests Abraham Lincoln and Barbara Bush in a special presentation of one-act plays at Tualatin United Methodist Church, 20200 SW Martinazzi Road in Tualatin.

A former member of the diplomatic corps, Beaverton resident Steve Holgate has performed his one-man show, “A Town Hall with Abraham Lincoln,” over 250 times across the nation. As Lincoln, Holgate will bring to life the 16th president’s hopes, fears, and actions as he leads the country during the Civil War and will answer questions during a mock press conference as part of the performance.

Tigard resident and award-winning actress Virginia Kincaid stars as Barbara Bush in her original one-woman play, Behind Every Bush, in which Barbara visits with her biographer (the audience) in preparation for writing her memoir.

For this delightful look at Barbara Bush, former Houstonian Kincaid draws from her family connection to the lady behind the presidents, bringing a unique insight to Barbara’s childhood, marriage, children, political adventures, and literacy advocacy, in addition to anything else she’d like to talk about.
