Kids, teens, and adults, you can continue turn in your Summer Reading logs through August 31 to be eligible for prizes! Kids and teens, turn in your completed log to earn a free prize book. Adults, you receive prize entries for every completed page of your TPL passport. Tigard Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is made possible by the Ready to Read Grant and Friends of the Tigard Public Library.

Guided downtown Tigard walks are back! Meet the entrepreneurs, businesses, and events that shaped downtown Tigard over the past century. Tours begin on Tigard Heritage Trail, next to Symposium Coffee, and are less than 1 mile in length.

Getting Started as an Independent Writer: A Panel Discussion presented by NIWA

There’s an old saying that everyone has one novel in them. If you are inspired to take a try at writing your big story, please join us for this panel discussion by published independent writers from the Northwest Independent Writers Association. They will bring the latest news as well as advice, hints, and tips from across a range of genres. Don’t forget, National Novel Writing Month is coming in November! Book Babies

There and Back Again Book Club

Join us for a hybrid walking book club! We will meet in the Community Room at the library and walk along the Fanno Creek Trail where everyone can discuss what they’re reading, share recommendations, or just chat with other book lovers. Afterwards, we’ll return to the library to talk about this month’s book selection, Winter Counts by David Heska Wanbli Weiden.

Mid-term elections are coming! Register to vote or check your registration status so you don’t miss the chance to participate in our democracy. Members of Tigard’s Youth Advisory Council will be there to help! Folks of all ages can learn about voting and participate in a mock election to choose which library mascot will be our Honorary President.
