Mask & Mirror Community Theatre has announced five spectacular shows for its upcoming 2026-2027 Season 16. The three main shows will be produced on The Main Stage at Rise Church, 10445 Canterbury Lane, Tigard, over three weekends, with Friday and Saturday shows beginning at 7:30 PM and Sunday shows beginning at 2:30 PM. Their two edgier Unmasked Series shows will be staged at M&M’s Unmasked venue Tualatin United Methodist Church, 20200 Martinazzi Avenue, Tualatin, Oregon, and will be performed at 7:30 on Fridays and 2:00 on Saturdays.

Their first Rise Main Stage show will be Joseph Kesselring’s dark screwball comedy “Arsenic and Old Lace” running November 6-22, 2026, with Kathleen Bean Jones directing, assisted by Shianna Deck-Ugelstad. Chaos ensues when a cynical drama critic discovers his sweet elderly aunts are actually serial killers, and he tries to hide their crimes, deal with his homicidal brother, and still maintain his sanity.

Mask & Mirror’s first Unmasked Series show of the upcoming season will be Ernest Thompson’s “On Golden Pond” directed by Aaron Morrow. It will run January 15 through February 6, 2027, at the Tualatin United Methodist Church. This classic American dramedy about an aging couple spending their 45th summer at their Maine lake house explores mortality, complex family dynamics, and the healing power of intergenerational bonds as Norman, nearing 80 with a failing memory, connects with his daughter’s teenage stepson.

Agatha Christie’s “Witness for the Prosecution” will grace the Rise Main Stage March 5-21, 2027. Directed by Kraig Williams, this play will take you inside the magnificent surroundings of London’s County Hall to witness the intensity and drama of a gripping story of justice, passion, and betrayal in a unique courtroom setting.

Kate Hamill’s “Emma” – adapted from Jane Austin’s classic novel – will be directed by Sophie Duntley and be produced on the Rise Main Stage May 7-23, 2027. It is a popular, zany, and fast-paced adaptation known for its modern feminist take which breaks the fourth wall and infuses contemporary humor into the Regency-era story. The play follows the meddling matchmaker Emma Woodhouse as she navigates her own love life, often with comedic chaos, using a fresh, energetic, and irreverent style which appeals to modern audiences.

The second Unmasked offering of the season will be the classic “Our Town” by Thornton Wilder and will be directed by Evan Tait. The play presents the small town of Grovers Corners in 3 acts: “Daily Life,” “Love and Marriage” and “Death and Eternity.” Narrated by a stage manager and performed with minimal props and set, the play depicts the simple lives of the Webb and Gibbs families as their children fall in love, marry, and eventually – in one of the most famous scenes in American theater – die. It was described by Edward Albee as “the greatest play ever written.” It will be performed at the Tualatin United Methodist Church July 9–24, 2027.
