A Tigard woman faces felony charges after allegedly striking a pedestrian with her SUV and fleeing the scene in mid-August, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded around 9:15 p.m. on Aug. 18 to a reported hit-and-run near the intersection of Southwest 185th Avenue and Tualatin Valley Highway. A 911 caller reported that a vehicle struck a pedestrian before driving eastbound away from the area.
Personnel from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue and American Medical Response treated the victim at the scene before transporting them to a local hospital. Officials said the victim suffered serious, non-life-threatening injuries and was expected to recover.
While deputies and Beaverton police officers searched the surrounding area, another driver called 911 to report they were following the suspect vehicle and provided dispatchers with real-time location updates.
Deputies subsequently stopped the driver, identified as 44-year-old Anne Elizalde, in a 2002 Lexus RX300 near Southwest Murray Boulevard and Southwest Sexton Mountain Drive.
Elizalde was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on a charge of felony hit-and-run.
