We all live in the now: We can’t help it! Still, many of us spend time reminiscing about the past—especially if we are over kindergarten age. It can be fun to speculate, but who among us knows which fashions, foods, and songs will last forever?
The Northwest Senior Theatre (NST) playfully addresses these questions in its fall show, “Then, Now…Always!” Whether you adore oldies, prefer contemporary tunes, or just want to keep all the good stuff going on, we’ve got a show for you! NST’s upcoming program features catchy songs from many genres: Classics, Show Tunes, Oldies, Pop, Rock – they’re all in the mix!
Director Evan Aldrete, who is directing the NST players for the first time, crafted the show from songs suggested by cast members.
“When it comes to depicting a lifetime through music, many heads are better than one. Just about everyone in the show has contributed to our song list in one way or another,” said Aldrete. “It’s been so much fun working with this group. I know they are going to hit a home run with this show, especially since we’re including a song about baseball!”
The Northwest Senior Theatre has entertained audiences since 1991. The group comprises inspired, talented amateur performers of age 55 and older. In addition to annual spring and fall shows at Rise Church in Tigard, the troupe also performs at nearby senior communities and retirement homes. NST is currently soliciting such opportunities.
