Mask and Mirror Community Theatre will continue its Main Stage season with Philip King’s long-running London hit See How They Run. Directed by Rick Hoover, the comedic chaos will take place on The Main Stage at Rise Church, 10445 Canterbury Lane, Tigard, May 2 – May 18. Performance times for the three weekends are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 Sundays.

King’s hugely popular farce is rife with mistaken identities, rapid costume changes, and enough running to qualify as a full-body workout. This hilarious play is set in an English vicarage and features an overwhelmed vicar and his wife who are barraged by colorful guests, including an American actress, an American G.I. stationed with the Air Force in England, a cockney maid who has seen too many TV shows, an old dowager who “touches alcohol for the very first time in her life,” a bishop aghast at all the goings-on, and four men in identical clerical garb, one of whom is an escaped prisoner.

Hoover’s cast bringing this action-packed physical comedy to life stars Sophia Caruso as Ida, Olivia Butterfield as Miss Skillon, Anika Hyatt as Penelope Toop, Gnyanesh Trivedi as Reverend Lionel Toop, Ted Schroeder as Corporal Clive, Steve Hotaling as The Intruder, Kerry Kehoe as The Bishop of Lax, Jeff Ekdahl as Reverend Humphrey, and John Bartholomew as Sergeant Towers.

Hoover’s crew includes Peter Bolger as Production Manager, Jodi Johnson as Stage Manager and Costumer, Cindy Zimmerman and Roni Skinner as Set Dressers, Steve Hotaling and Rick Hoover for Light and Sound Design, Clover Floratos as Photographer/Videographer, Clover Floratos and Christopher Kilmartin as Light and Sound Operator, John Armour as Fight Coordinator, Beth Moore as Poster Design/Social Media, Dwayne Thurnau as Box Office, and John Knowles, John Bartholomew, and Rick Hoover as Set Construction.

Hoover enthusiastically states, “I have wanted to direct this show for years. Audiences will be entertained from start to finish with uproarious sight gags, an implausible storyline, and some of the best acting in town. Special surprises in store include songs from The Andrews Sisters before the show, at intermission, and at curtain call. The opening curtain speech will be delivered by British Army First Sergeant Douglas MacFarlane, Military Advisor. And opening night ticket holders can expect a special treat!”
