Tigard CERT and the City of Tigard will hold their second donation drive on Sept. 26, 2020 at the Tigard Public Works building to support the great work of our local giving agencies. Our previous event on July 25 was a great success and helped support local giving agencies with their needs.

From the Bethlehem House of Bread agency about our July 25 event: We were one of the beneficiaries of the City of Tigard and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)’s ‘essentials’ drive this past Saturday. We’re touched by the generosity from our neighbors. COVID has reminded us all of the importance of having essentials like food, personal hygiene products, and cleaning supplies. Your donations make it possible for us to keep serving our shared community.

You can help these groups support Tigard residents by bringing non-perishable food items and/or cleaning and hygiene supplies to the second donation drive on Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Tigard Public Works building at 8777 SW Burnham St, Tigard, OR 97223.

For more information on the donation drive, please visit tigard-or.gov/hub.

From the Muslim Educational Trust: Thank you to the Tigard CERT team for managing the donation project that took place in July.  The donations received from CERT went into 75 boxes that went to 75 different families. You can’t imagine the happiness and prayers we received from the families that received these gifts. Everyone is THANKFUL and APPRECIATIVE.  I know we can’t help everyone, but through our togetherness, generosity and thoughtfulness we will help as many as we can.  As they say, “One hand can’t clap, you need two hands to clap.” Thank you for the partnership.

The donation drive asks you to place your items in the trunk or back seat of your vehicle. Upon arrival please remain in your vehicle while it is unloaded by CERT volunteers wearing masks and gloves.

From the Tigard Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul: We are very grateful for the food donations received from the donation event in July. Food drives like this provide helpful variety to help fill out the food boxes distributed to Tigard residents.
