The Tigard Community Friends Church is in need of warm and used clothing to be given out to families in need.
We will be taking all coats, fleece, hats, gloves, scarves and heavy sweatshirts — in good condition, but of ALL ages and sizes — at the Friends church at 15800 SW Hall Blvd. through Friday, Sept. 18. There will be a barrel by the front door under the covered area to place them in.
The church runs a monthly drive-thru FoodShare Pantry, serving upwards of 70 families, and has noticed that having warm clothing in the winter is an important necessity that these families may not have.
The act of helping out others gives a wonderful feeling of sharing with neighbors, so anyone who would like to lend a hand, can feel free to donate at our location.
We will be unloading the barrel each evening, washing up what we can and getting the items ready for our giveaway.
