Fall is here! The leaves are changing color, the weather is cooler, the air is crisp, and it is a great time to enjoy Tigard Main Street! Our city is fortunate to have a unique and committed small business community who have been incredible partners throughout the construction of the Tigard Main Street Green Street Project. Although construction can be disruptive, downtown Tigard is accessible, parking is available, sidewalks are walkable, and Main Street businesses are open and ready to serve you.

One fun way to check out downtown Tigard is to Trick or Treat Main Street on Halloween—Monday, October 31, from 4 pm to 6 pm. A downtown Tigard tradition hosted by the Downtown Tigard Alliance, it is promised to be a “Spooktacular” event. Local businesses offer a safe and friendly opportunity to join in the Halloween fun of trick-or-treating. Be sure to bring the whole family!

Businesses are excited to join in the festivities! Sook Lee, owner of Tigard Main Street Cleaners, is thrilled to be a part of the celebration— he said, “I love to see all the families spending time together and all the costumes!” Tigard Main Street Cleaners has been a mainstay in the downtown Tigard business community for many years, providing organic dry-cleaning services.

Aldo Ruiz, owner of La Fuente, a restaurant serving up delicious Mexican cuisine, is also happy to join the party—offering candy to trick-or-treaters and a fun atmosphere for family dining. Ruiz noted, “It is a pleasure to serve our community every day, but it is especially fun when we have special events like this. I look forward to seeing all the children out having fun!”

Our local businesses are incredible and so often step in to support our community goals. Projects like the Main Street Green Street improvement project wouldn’t run smoothly without the assistance of our downtown neighbors! It is important to support them as well – remember Downtown is Open for Business! For Trick or Treat Main Street, construction will end early on Halloween night. Parking is available on Burnham Street, Commercial Street and Main Street, the Burnham Street Parking Lot, and the Tigard Street Public Parking Lot.
