Tigard Recreation for Everyone (TRE), a dedicated nonprofit organization, is searching for a dynamic individual to serve as President of the Board of Directors. This volunteer leadership position is pivotal in driving TRE’s mission to promote wellness, inclusivity, and enhanced recreational opportunities for all Tigard residents.
Our Vision
TRE is focused on two core objectives:
- Short-Term Goals: Collaborate with the City of Tigard and other partners to expand community recreational activities, including wellness programs, health education, and age-friendly initiatives in local parks and facilities.
- Long-Term Goals: Secure grants, foster donations, and build partnerships to acquire land and develop a state-of-the-art community recreation center.
2024 Project Highlights
TRE has made significant strides in advancing recreational opportunities through key collaborations:
- Healthy Kids Day (April 20, 2024): Partnering with the City of Tigard and Sherwood YMCA to host this national event at Universal Plaza.
- Kids Summer Camp: Teaming up with YMCA and Rise Church to run a vibrant summer camp at Rise Church in Tigard.
- Upcoming AARP Event: Engaging with AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) to bring an educational and activity-focused event to Tigard.
- Ongoing Partnerships: Coordinating efforts with the City of Tigard Mayor and Recreation Department, Tigard Turns the Tide, Tigard-Tualatin School District, and Columbia-Willamette YMCA.
