The school year is winding down, and the summer fun is firing up at Tigard Public Library! Visit the Library Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., and Friday through Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. There will be a two-week Storytime break from Monday, May 22 – Friday, June 2. Explore Healthcare Fields with HOSA

So, you want to be a doctor, dentist, veterinarian, or scientist? Tigard High School’s HOSA Club (Future Health Professionals) invites you for an interactive experience with healthcare career-oriented games and activities. Take a guided tour through various stations and learn about first aid, CPR, the science of slime, and caring for your teeth. Bring your well-loved stuffies for a check-up at our Stuffed Animal Clinic. Student translators will be available for families that speak Spanish.

Houseplant and Plant Starts Swap!

Calling all plant enthusiasts, newbies, and everyone in between! Join us in the Community Room and bring along any plants, cuttings, starts, and seeds you’d like to share; then take home a new plant for yourself! Don’t have a plant to share? We’ll have extras, so come anyway! 

Please label each plant with its name along with its light, soil, and water preferences.

Repair Fair

Do you have a broken item at home you have been meaning to fix? Repair Fairs are free community events that bring volunteers and community members together to fix broken items, teach valuable repair skills, and learn from listening and doing. Please, no gas-powered equipment, hazardous items, vehicles, or weapons. Get the link to register for a repair or volunteer on the library website. 

Summer Reading

June 1 – August 31 | All Ages 

Summer Reading is free fun for the whole family! Kids, teens, and adults can sign up beginning Thursday, June 1, to earn books or be entered to win prizes. Tigard Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is made possible by the Ready to Read Grant and Friends of the Tigard Public Library.

Summer Reading Kickoff with Chicamarimba

Library Backyard | All Ages 

Celebrate the start of summer and the Summer Reading Program with an outdoor dance party featuring local favorites Chicamarimba! This all-woman ensemble plays world music blending African and Latin American rhythms as well as contemporary favorites. Program presented in partnership with Friends of the Tigard Library.
