Pick up the books, movies, and music you need for a cozy winter season at Tigard Public Library! Have you tried our Holds Lockers? They are a convenient, accessible way to pick up materials, and they’re available an hour earlier than other library services- starting at 9 AM Monday through Friday. Find more on the library website. Tigard Public Library will close at 4 PM on December 24 and 31, and be closed December 25, January 1, and January 15. Online resources are available 24/7 at wccls.org.

English Conversation Group 

Wednesdays, December 6-February 28 | 6-7:30 PM
Library Technology Room | Adults

Join us each week for an evening of English conversation! Enjoy a relaxed environment to practice common everyday phrases and conversational topics. All levels of English fluency are welcome. Led by an ESL tutor and certified instructor.

Drop-In Writing Group 

Every other Thursday: December 14 & 28, January 11 & 25, February 8 & 22 | 6-7:30 PM
Houghton Room | Adults

Drop in for an hour of writing! Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. Hosted through Shut Up & Write, attendees will: Show up, write quietly, then hang out or head out. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. Plus, snacks!

STEM Exploration with the Tigard High School Tech Team

Burgess Community Room | Ages 4+

Drop in to meet a robot! The THS Tech Team constructs engineering marvels for competition (and fun)! The Team will demonstrate their creations and give you chance to take the controls. Visit the free play area to build with LEGOS, design robots, and try out some tech toys!

Teen Winter Reading: Devour a Book 

January 2 – February 29 | Pick up during library open hours
Books at Children’s Desk | Teens in Grades 6-12

Teens, drop by the library to pick out a free book and begin your #WinterReading celebration. With every book you consume, submit your page count to enter a drawing for a $30 Powell’s gift card, and to join a virtual team of other winter readers. Compete with other teams for the glory of accumulating the highest page count!

Health Online: Finding Information You Can Trust
