Storytime For All Ages through December 15

Burgess Community Room

Indoor, in-person storytimes are back! All storytimes are FREE and open to the public. To help ensure social distancing space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

There will be a two-week storytime break starting Tuesday, December 20.  Sessions will begin again on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Book Babies

Ages 0-18 months  
Tuesdays | 10:15–10:45 AM

Babies and their grownups are invited to share nursery rhymes, finger plays, songs and a simple book while making new friends and developing early literacy skills. 

Toddler Time 

Ages 18 months-3 years 
Wednesdays | 10:15-10:45 AM AND 11:15-11:45 AM (two sessions)

Join us as we sing, rhyme, share simple stories and enjoy movement activities in this storytime designed for wiggly toddlers!

Family Story Time 

Ages 0-6 years 
Thursdays | 10:15–11 AM AND 11:15 AM–Noon (two sessions)

Bring the whole gang for stories, songs and super-duper silliness!

Getting Started with Dungeons & Dragons

Unmask Alice Author Rick Emerson

Published in 1971, the book Go Ask Alice presented itself as an authentic diary of a teenage girl’s descent into addiction. It had a massive effect on the culture and continues to be read today. But how real is Alice? Who was the person who found this “diary,” and what were they hiding? Local author Rick Emerson spent years researching these questions and comes to the Tigard Public Library to share Alice’s secrets!

New Hikes in Oregon with William Sullivan

Oregon’s premier hiking expert William Sullivan takes us on a slide show tour of new and changed trails found while updating his popular series of Oregon trail guides. Discover a new “Painted Hills” preserve, a secret beach on the coast, a new canyon trail at Steens Mountain, and learn about what’s changed because of recent wildfires and trail permit processes.
