The Tigard Chamber of Commerce awarded $6,000 in scholarships to six area students, including:
- Aishiki Nag, Tigard High School
- Amanda Fronczak, Tualatin High School
- Bennett Crawford, Tigard High School
- Ellerie Harrington, Tigard High School
- Manuel Ibarra Calderon, Tigard High School
- Skylar Benagni, Tigard High School
The scholarships were awarded as part of the 49th Annual Tigard Shining Stars Community Awards Celebration presented by Edge One Media in May. Scholarship recipients were selected from 16 applicants based on their stated career plans, extracurricular and/or work activities, academic achievement, and letters of recommendation.
The scholarships were made possible through generous donations from Pride Disposal, Center Street Gold & Silver, Tigard Breakfast Rotary, and over 80 other local businesses that are members of the Tigard Chamber of Commerce.
