Do you like to sing? Do you like to meet new and very friendly people?
If so, you might like to visit with the members of the Conchords Chorale, a community choir that meets weekly at Tualatin High School for rehearsals. There are two sessions each year – in the fall the focus is on holiday music and during the spring session the themes vary from Disney to the movies to our theme for this past spring of songs from the 40’s, 50’s & 60’s! We slipped one 70’s song into the show as well: Abba’s “Dancing Queen.”
Performance is very much a part of the year with the Conchords. The group’s mission has always been to sing for seniors so many of each season’s performances are held at senior living facilities in the area for a very nominal fee. There are also a couple of public performances each season.
The Conchords Chorale is always looking to find new members who share a love of music. A number of our members come from Tualatin so you may well run into someone you know if you would like to sit in on a rehearsal or two. Members need to be 18 or older. You can get more details from members of the board concerning dues, attire and music while visiting a rehearsal. Rehearsals for the fall session begin on September 11th and continue Wednesday evenings starting at 7:15 PM in the music room at the Tualatin High School, 22300 SW Boones Ferry Road, Tualatin, OR 97062.
