International Observe the Moon Night

Join us for an after-hours meeting of moon enthusiasts! Set up in front of the library with your telescope or binoculars, or use ours, and chat together about what you can see. If the weather is not cooperative, we will still have moon themed activities indoors. Warm beverages provided.

Medicare Explained

You will: learn the differences between Medicare A, B, C, and D; figure out how and when to apply; figure out your costs; and discover sources of financial assistance.

WinterWalk NatureWalk

We don’t want to leave you high and dry (or should we say cold and wet?) during the winter months with no StoryWalk®. Join naturalist Natalie DaSilva as she guides a tour of the trail and talks about the WinterWalk she created for those adventurous enough to brave the colder weather. The WinterWalk will be up October through April.  Program presented in partnership with Friends of the Tigard Library.

Fostering Citywide Resilience

Northwest Classical Theatre Collaborative: The Year of Magical Thinking

Joan Didion’s award-winning memoir The Year of Magical Thinking recounts the year that both her husband and daughter died. It spotlights the force that grief is in our lives as well as how we can move forward through the trials of loss to heal ourselves. This live performance of the play adaptation includes violin accompaniment and a brief post-play forum discussion.

Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia

Alzheimer’s disease is not a normal part of aging. Join us to learn about the impact of Alzheimer’s, the difference between Alzheimer’s and dementia, stages and risk factors, current research and treatments available, and Alzheimer’s Association resources.  Program presented in partnership with Washington County Disability, Aging and Veteran Services.
