Oregon Rocks!

Take off on a geology adventure and explore our ever-changing planet Earth. Dig into rocks, fossils, earthquakes, and volcanoes through hands-on activities and rockin’ specimens, discovering the dynamic forces that have shaped Oregon’s landscape over time with the University of Oregon’s Traveling Museum of Natural and Cultural History. Program presented in partnership with Friends of the Tigard Library.

Author Thien Pham presents Family Style

Comic artist and educator Thien Pham comes to Tigard to share his new graphic novel Family Style: Memories of an American from Vietnam! In this charming book, Pham tells the story of his family’s immigration to the US through the meals he ate along the way, revealing how food builds memory and community. Program presented in partnership with Friends of the Tigard Library.

Teen Outdoor Movie Night 

Wednesday, August 2 | 7:30-11 PM
Library Backyard | Teens in grades 6-12 

Bring a blanket and park yourself in front of the big screen on a starry night. Activities start at 7:30 p.m., and the movie begins at dusk. Enjoy lawn games and bingo while you wait for the opening credits! Registration encouraged on the Library website, but drop-ins are welcome! Those who register will have a chance to help select the movie! Program presented in partnership with Tigard Parks & Recreation.

Home Front Heroines

When men went off to war, women stepped from homes and offices into factories to make the ships, planes, and vehicles that enabled America to win World War II and become a postwar superpower. Using vivid images, author and historian Sig Unander tells the unforgettable story of this pivotal time in history. Program presented in partnership with Friends of the Tigard Library.

Family Lotería Night

Get ready for the return of Lotería to the Tigard Library! Have fun with the whole family playing this traditional Mexican bingo-like board game that has been enjoyed around the world for centuries. Come see what the fun is all about and maybe win a little prize!
